There were many people who helped our project by lending us their expertise, telling their stories, and teaching us about the many complexities in considering a project of this ambition. We introduce them and thank them:
- Laura Rose Day, Penobscot River Restoration Trust, shared with us the experience of pulling out dams on the Penobscot River.
- John Waldman, Department of Biology at CUNY Queens College, painted a contextual history of the loss of natural river systems in the Northeast.
- Nicholas Agnoli, Agnoli Engineering LLC, provided an engineer’s view of the dam as infrastructure.
- Sheila Eyler, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, presented a contextual overview of the Susquehanna watershed.
- George Fowler, Woldt Engineering and Consulting, informed us about sedimentation issues.
- John Stella, SUNY ESF, helped us to brainstorm about shoreline stabilization.
- Laura Wildman, Princeton Hydro, came over and workshopped with us about the details of dam removal (successes, failures, do’s and don’ts).
- Amy Roe, an environmental activist in Delaware and author of the massive dissertation about the Susquehanna and the Conowingo Dam, provided advice and assistance.
- Laura Richard, American Rivers, also provided encouragement and advice.
- Ben Hayes, who welcomed us so warmly to the Susquehanna River Symposium.
